“Lifting weights will make me bulky”
Absolutely not! Strength training will grow muscles that will enhance your natural female curves.
“Strength training isn’t for moms or women”
Our bodies were made with muscles - it makes sense that we’re supposed to use them! Strength training does more than strengthen our muscles. It helps train movement patterns found in every day life so we’re less likely to get injured.
“Cardio is better for fat loss”
While cardio is important, it isn’t as effective for weight loss. This is because strength training will grow muscles that will continue to burn calories, where cardio only burns calories are you’re moving.
“Strength training is dangerous”
Strength training is actually one of the safest sports. Having a trainer that can teach you proper lifting and progressing slowly will both help keep the chances of injury down.
“I don’t have a gym membership”
You don’t need one! Strength training can start by just using your body weight. As you progress you can add resistance bands or dumbbells to your home arsenal.

“I just want to say thank you a million for helping me! I’ve been eating what you said and I feel sooo much better. Plenty more energy as well”

Ahnna has been such an amazing resource and support system on my health and fitness journey. I struggle with impulse control when eating and the tendency to let getting bogged down with work and extracurricular activities get in the way of a regular workout schedule. Ahnna has always encouraged me to have a healthier relationship with food as well as the gym emphasizing prioritizing healthy choices, but also not beating yourself up for prioritizing mental health or caving to the occasional indulgence. Ahnna is also super relatable. She’s not afraid to be transparent with her own struggles throughout her journey - both past and current - so I’ve never felt the need to ‘hide’ my failures from her. Her accountability has always been rooted in kindness and care for my wellbeing. She’s always there with a pep talk and words of encouragement. Additionally, she’s super patient when explaining exercises I’ve been confused on or correcting my form. Most of my experience has been in organized sports, so lifting in a gym setting was intimidating for me. But, she went out of her way to make her programs physically challenging while minimizing my ‘gym anxiety’ and accommodating my request for at-home exercises when the prospect of the gym was too overwhelming.
